Engineers who've worked inside the grid
Utility operations, BMS integration, energy trading, and ML forecasting — we've worked in every layer of the grid stack Voltpathio connects.
Grid operations analyst at Duke Energy (2018–2022), then demand response program manager at EnerNOC covering PJM commercial accounts. At EnerNOC, managed load flexibility contracts representing 180 MW of curtailable C&I load. Left in 2022 after spending months watching demand charges erode NOI across a 12-building REIT client's portfolio — a problem he knew was preventable with a real-time data pipeline. Founded Voltpathio in 2023 to build it. MS Electrical Engineering, NC State.
PhD Applied Mathematics, NC State (2021). Previously at Itron building short-term load forecasting models for the SERC reliability region, where she worked with 15-minute interval data from 2 million residential and commercial meters. At Voltpathio, designed the gradient-boosted ensemble that powers demand peak prediction — 98% accuracy at 15 minutes, 85% at 45 minutes across PJM market data. Holds two patents on probabilistic load forecasting methods.
BMS commissioning engineer at Johnson Controls (8 years) and Trane Technologies (2 years), where he commissioned Metasys and Niagara N4 systems in Class A office towers across the Southeast. Certified BACnet Professional (CBP). Designed Voltpathio's protocol adapter layer from scratch — it discovers BACnet device trees, maps objects to load categories, and sets up WriteProperty command sequences without touching BMS firmware or existing programming.
Former ISO-NE market analyst and energy data engineer at Opower/Oracle Utilities (2015–2020) and GridPoint (2020–2022). At ISO-NE, worked on real-time LMP dissemination and load forecasting for the New England markets. At Opower, built interval data pipelines processing billing and sub-meter data for 300+ utility customers. At Voltpathio, owns the ISO/RTO market data integrations, LMP signal processing, and DR settlement reporting — the layer between raw market data and the demand forecast engine.
